Tempus AI to acquire Personalis for $1.5 billion
The cancer genomics company reported preliminary second-quarter revenue of $22.4 million.
Personalis (PSNL), the cancer genomics company, entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Tempus AI, Inc. for $16.25 per share. The transaction represents a total enterprise value of $1.5 billion.
The acquisition follows a period of accelerating operational scale for the company. Preliminary revenue for the second quarter of 2026 was $22.4 million, an increase from the $15.5 million reported in the first quarter.
Growth in clinical test volumes drove the recent revenue trajectory. Personalis performed 10,384 tests in the second quarter, a 33% sequential increase from the 7,815 tests conducted in the first quarter.
This expansion continued a trend of rapid volume growth. The first-quarter volume of 7,815 tests had previously risen 258% year-over-year.
Earlier gains provided the baseline for the current quarter's acceleration. Test volumes in the fourth quarter of 2025 were 6,183, which represented a 41% sequential increase at that time.
